Why I’m Speaking Up: Living, Healing, and Mothering Through Trauma

I never planned to write about my trauma. For a long time, I was just trying to survive it—quietly, privately, and as invisibly as possible. But silence didn’t protect me. It didn’t help me heal nor did it create the kind of change I needed.

This blog is my attempt to make sense of what I’ve been through and to create space for others navigating experiences we’re often told to keep quiet. I’m a mother healing from emotional and psychological wounds, raising my kids through the fog of complex PTSD, and learning how to rebuild in a world that doesn’t always feel safe or supportive.

Here, I’ll be sharing pieces of my story; not for sympathy, but for connection. If you’re battling trauma, managing difficult dynamics in your personal life, struggling to reclaim a sense of safety, or just trying to function when everything feels unstable; you’re not alone. I’ll also share the tools, truths, and small victories that have helped me keep going.

This isn’t just about pain; it’s about survival. It’s about reclaiming my voice, my parenting, and my peace. It’s about choosing truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially when it’s uncomfortable.

If any of this resonates with you…stay. Read. Share your own story if you feel safe. Healing isn’t linear, and it isn’t meant to be done alone.
